ZenEn Business Challenge – St James vs West Exe

Posted in: Latest News on Thursday, March 20th, 2014

On Wednesday 19th March St James hosted 12 year 8 students from West Exe to take part in a ‘Business Challenge’ day. St James and West Exe students working in teams to compete in a marketing challenge. Assisted by mentors from the University of Exeter, the teams worked to create a marketing campaign and to produce a business plan to justify why they should be awarded the £3000 start-up funding. At the end of the day they had to give a team presentation to a judging panel of teachers and business people.

All the teams produced a hugely impressive plan and presentation, but the eventual winners were the St James B team, with the West Exe B team in a very close second place. Congratulations to all the students involved, as every team showed several areas of strength, and the judges found it very difficult to choose winners. Thanks to David Solomides, Director of Zenen Education Services who organised the event, the University Innovation Centre and the students who gave their time to support it.
